Dual Core vs. Quad Core
Dual core processors are computers with two processor cores in a single package, while Quad core processors are four processor cores in a single package. Dual and Quad core processors are examples of multi-core processors which means that the component that holds the processor together has more than one processor, unlike what computers used to have in the past. To put it simply, more power pulls the components of the computer to function faster and provide results or solutions with greater speed.
Dual core processors have 2.4 GHz of processing speed, which is better than the older single-core versions with only 1.3 or 1.6 GHz. What makes them better than older processors is that there are two power chips that work to process a particular function of a computer like scanning for viruses. This means that there will be enough speed and power left to process other functions like sending an email or chatting on an instant messenger application. On the other hand, the Quad core processors have more power to process games with heavy graphics while still allowing the device to function for other applications. Therefore, depending on which activities you want to do with a computer, you will need to choose one with a processor that can provide you the speed and power to perform all tasks.
